01Who can use GBNETWORK

• You must be 16 or older.
• GBNETWORK is available in Canada only.
• Sign in with Apple is the only way in. There is no password to lose and no password for us to leak.
• One account per person, and you are responsible for what is posted under it.
• If you are under 18, which is the age of majority in Ontario, read these terms and the privacy policy with a parent or guardian before you make an account.

02What GBNETWORK is

Every movement has a ladder of fixed loads called rungs. Your imported training history, or one calibration set, picks your rung: it is the load on the ladder nearest seventy percent of what your own best set says you could lift once. Everyone the ladder puts on a rung puts the identical load on the bar and counts reps, and you are ranked against all of them and nobody else. There is no strength formula and no bodyweight adjustment anywhere in it.

A freakoff is one movement, at one rung, at one gym, over one period. The board for it ranks everyone at that rung by reps, with cosigned results ranked and self-logged results listed beside them. You are not paired off against one named lifter anywhere in this version: there are no fixtures, no teams and no head-to-head matches.

Your rung is locked for the period, and one thing moves it: a cosigned count above twenty reps at your own rung moves you up one rung for the rest of that period. Nothing moves you down, and you cannot choose a rung or negotiate one.

GBNETWORK is free in this version. There is nothing to buy in the app, no subscription and no in-app purchase.

03What GBNETWORK is not

Nothing in this app is coaching, programming or medical advice. Lifting is dangerous. You decide what load is safe for you on the day, you warm up, and you stop when you should stop. GBNETWORK suggests a starting rung from your own history and never tells you to attempt anything.

Nothing in this app is a record of who was where. There is no camera, no filming and no photo upload anywhere in the product, at any tier. There is no location permission, so the app never asks your phone where you are. A check-in is something you tell us, not something we detect.

04Attempts and attestations

A logged set is either self-logged or attested. Attested means a second identified account entered your witness code at the time you lifted and counted the reps.

An attestation is a social credibility tier, not a verification. It says that a person put their name to your number, with your consent, and nothing more. It is marked on every board and on your Card, it can be reported, and it is not proof that anyone was present. The word verified is not used in this product about any result.

When somebody cosigns your set, their display name is copied onto that attestation as it stood at the moment they signed, and it stays there. When you cosign somebody else’s set, yours is. That is the point of putting two names on a number. If the person who signed later deletes their account, the name on the record is replaced by the word Withdrawn and the count stays.

Cosigning a set you did not count, and trading cosigns, are the fastest ways to lose an account here. Your judge record counts the sets you have cosigned and the lifters you have counted for. We can withdraw the attested mark from a result that does not hold up, and we can remove the account behind it.

05Conduct

• Do not log sets you did not do.
• Do not cosign sets you did not count.
• Do not harass anyone, and put nothing in a display name you would not put on a scoreboard in a gym.
• Do not impersonate another lifter, a gym or a federation.
• Do not use the app to arrange anything unlawful, and do not attack or probe it.

06Blocking and reporting

Every board row carries a report control, and the sheet it opens can block the person behind that row straight away, without filing a report and without waiting for us. Blocks are listed in Settings and can be undone there. Blocking removes each of you from the other’s boards and stops either of you cosigning for the other.

Reported content is reviewed within 24 hours. That is our own commitment and it is stricter than the rule that requires a timely answer; one person reads that queue, every day. We remove content and accounts that break these rules. You will not hear what happened to the other account, because that is their business, and you will hear from us if we need something from you.

If you are in immediate danger, this app is not the way to get help. Call emergency services or your campus security line.

One limit worth knowing: a block is keyed to two accounts, so it ends when either account is deleted. If somebody you blocked deletes their account, your block goes with it, and a new sign-in would arrive with no block in place. File a report as well as blocking, so there is a record with us.

07Imported and claimed history

You can import a Hevy or Strong CSV export, and you can claim a meet result from the public OpenPowerlifting dataset. Imported and claimed history is used to place you on the ladder. It is marked as what it is, it never appears on a board as an attested set, and an imported row is visible to nobody but you.

Claim only your own results. A claim carries the name that appears in that public dataset, which for most people is their legal name, and claiming somebody else’s meet is impersonation under the conduct rules above.

08Your gym comes first

GBNETWORK works inside a gym and does not override it. Your gym’s rules come first: its hours, its equipment rules, its staff, and what it allows on the floor.

Many gyms prohibit filming, the Queen’s Athletics and Recreation Centre among them. Nothing in this app ever asks you to film anything, because there is no camera in it and no way to attach a video or a photo to a result. Follow your gym’s rule on the floor regardless.

09Ending it

You can delete your account at any time from Settings. Deletion removes your account, your profile, every attempt you posted, every board row those attempts produced, every set you logged here and the records built from them, your locked rungs, your gym memberships, your check-ins, your claimed meets, your blocks and your imports. It cannot be undone, and deactivation is not offered instead.

Two things are the exception, and you should know about them before you delete. The cosigns you gave other people stay, with your name replaced by Withdrawn, because a set another person lifted is their record and not yours to erase. Anything you reported to us stays, with your name taken off it, for the same kind of reason: it is about somebody else’s conduct.

What does not stay, and is worth knowing because it is not yours alone: a cosign is stored on the set it counted, so the cosigns other people signed on your sets are deleted along with your sets and leave those people’s cosign history with them.

A third thing survives only if it exists: if we ever took a moderation action on your account, the record of that action stays, because an action taken against somebody has to remain explainable to them. It carries what was done, when and why, and nothing from the list above. Most accounts will never have one. The privacy policy sets all three out at more length, including how to get your name off a cosign without deleting your account.

We can suspend or remove an account that breaks these terms. A suspension stops you posting and deletes nothing: while it lasts your profile, your results, your board rows and the cosigns you gave are hidden from every other lifter, you still see all of them yourself, and lifting the suspension brings them back. Removal is the other thing: it voids your results, deletes your board rows outright and replaces your name on the cosigns you gave with the word Withdrawn. Where we can say why, we will, and you can write to us about it.

10No warranty

GBNETWORK is provided as it is, with no warranty of any kind, express or implied. Boards, rung placements and suggestions can be wrong. The app can be unavailable. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for what happens to you in a gym, for an injury, for a result recorded wrongly, or for a rank you lost.

To the extent the law allows, GBNETWORK and the person who operates it are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising out of your use of the app. Nothing in these terms removes a right you have under Ontario consumer protection law, or under any other law that does not permit that right to be removed.

11Changes

These terms can change. The effective date at the top is the version you are reading, and the privacy policy carries the same date.

When a change matters we will put a notice in the app before the new version applies. What this build cannot do is prove which version you read: nothing in it records a terms version against your account. So the effective date is the thing to check.

12Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of the Province of Ontario and the law of Canada that applies there, and the courts of Ontario have jurisdiction over any dispute about them.
